Resound School of Music provides professional drum lessons with the very best local teachers in Metro Vancouver. Lessons will cover all aspects of playing the drums, including proper warmups and rhythm exercises, reading notes, performing on-stage. Most importantly, you’ll get to learn your favourite songs so that you can actually enjoy playing real music on the drums!
Not all drum lessons will take you where you want to go. For a teacher to draw out their student’s full potential, they need to understand how that student learns. That’s why we take the time to get to know you, and then set you up with the teacher that will help you to succeed. Wherever your interests lie, we’ll set you up with a teacher who has the expertise to help you excel in playing your favourite style of music.
Before we assign you a drum teacher, we like to meet with you for a free in-home consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know you better, and for you to ask any questions you might have before committing to classes. Based on this information, we will select the ideal drum instructor for you.
If you’re a busy person, then having drum lessons in your home is the perfect solution for you. We have been providing professional music instruction in our student’s homes since 2009. Below is a list of all the locations we currently serve.

This answer can vary depending on the student and their goals. That being said, we recommend aiming to sit down and practice once per day, even if it’s for just a few minutes. You’ll notice far more progress from shorter, regular practice sessions every day, than from longer practice sessions a few times a week.
Pricing for drum lessons varies based on lesson length. All our tuition rates can be found on our pricing page here.
Method books are an additional cost, and can be purchased online or at your local music store. Your drum teacher may recommend a specific method based on your goals and experience.
Whether an acoustic or electric drum kit, we recommend starting with the type of instrument that best fits your lifestyle. If you have a lot of space and making a lot of noise isn’t an issue, then an acoustic drum set is going to provide the most authentic experience. However, electric drum sets have their advantages, as they can be played at low volumes and with headphones.
