Violin Teacher
Gwyneth Choy began teaching the violin professionally at the age of 17 and currently has 6 years of experience. Gwyneth has completed her ABRSM grade 8 examinations in both violin and viola with distinction, as well as her Trinity College London (ATCL diploma examination) in both Violin and Viola by the age of 14 in Hong Kong.
Gwyneth has performed in numerous orchestras in Hong Kong. She was concertmaster in the Hong Kong Children’s strings orchestra, which allowed her to perform numerous solos at a very young age. After that, she shortly moved onto Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong as a first violinist. She has competed in numerous music festivals in Hong Kong such as the 62nd, 63rd, 64th and 65th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.
Gwyneth is extremely passionate about teaching the violin and building memorable connections with her students. Her affable personality never fails to make all her students feel welcomed during lessons. She pays careful attention to content and has thoughtful lesson plans. Many students struggle with pronouncing her name, so she is comfortable with nicknames such as Gwen or GiGi.
