I am an enthusiastic vocalist with a passion for music in all forms, whether it be jazz, classical, pop, RnB, country and even music from other cultures. I come from a musical family, so music has been a part of my life since I was a child. My grandfather was a professional guitar player in the Bahamas, and growing up with him playing at home and in church had a major impact on my choice to pursue music.
I graduated from the Selkirk College Contemporary Music and Technology program in 2018, majoring in both performance and composition. During my 3 years at Selkirk, I was able to learn more about the voice, and various singing techniques. I was also involved in multiple bands, performing live often. In addition to singing, I also play the guitar, piano, flute and ukulele.
I love to teach vocalists of all ages and experience levels. My favourite part of teaching is seeing growth in my students. It doesn’t matter if you’re 6 or 60, I think music is for everybody. Most importantly, music is about having fun! I hope to spark the joy of music alive for my students and have fun while also learning new skills. So whether you’re looking to learn the more technical side of singing, you want be more confident on stage, or even you just want to sing somewhere other than your shower, vocal lessons are for you!
“A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.” – Leopold Stokowski
