Guitar, Bass, Drums, Ukulele Teacher

Lincoln Woo (He/They) is a professional multi-instrumentalist, producer, mixer, and recordist from Vancouver, Canada. Lincoln has been studying music for over 13 years, with over 5 years of professional experience touring and recording as a member of JUNO award-winning group “Said the Whale.”

Lincoln’s teaching philosophy revolves around personalizing curriculum to accommodate the unique learning needs, physical abilities, and interests of each student. He firmly believes that the learning process should be a collaborative effort, with lessons designed to meet the specific needs rather than forcing students into a predetermined mold. A first meeting with Lincoln will serve as an introduction where goals, preferences, and learning styles are discussed, ensuring the he can create a tailored curriculum for the student.

Lincoln offers instruction on guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele, as well as maintenance and setup skills for each instrument. His versatility allows him to teach a wide range of styles, including but not limited to; R&B, Neo Soul, Indie Rock, Jazz, Rock, Emo, Punk, Hardcore, Classical, Fingerstyle, Folk, and Pop. Whether students are beginners picking up an instrument for the first time or intermediate musicians seeking to advance their skillset, Lincoln’s comprehensive and highly adaptable approach to teaching provides the guidance and support necessary to achieve musical aspirations.

“I believe that music lessons should be engaging, challenging, and above all, fun! My primary goal is to create a positive learning environment where students look forward to each session. What I cherish most about teaching is the opportunity to learn from my experiences with students, fostering a mutual growth and understanding of music as an art form. There are few things more rewarding than being a part of someone’s ‘Aha!’ moments as a musician; the kind where you can see their eyes light up having just conquered a challenge that they once thought to be near impossible.”

Acquiring the skills to play and write music is an immensely rewarding and fulfilling pursuit. While the process can sometimes be frustrating, having a dedicated mentor by your side to navigate those challenges can be the difference between achieving your musical aspirations, and quitting within the first few months. Lincoln is committed to being that supportive guide, ensuring students not only progress but also relish the experience of learning music.
