Natasha Prasad
Voice & Piano Teacher
Natasha Prasad was born and raised in Edmonton, AB and developed a passion for music and performing at a very young age.
She began studying the voice through East Indian classical lessons at 6 years old. Throughout junior high school, she studied piano and music theory through The Royal Conservatory of Music. Natasha was heavily involved in her high school’s musical theatre program and took contemporary voice lessons outside of school as well. She went on to study and graduate from MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts (Musical Theatre) program (Jason Lang Scholarship). Natasha continues to study the voice today as she is always eager to keep expanding her knowledge and ability in her instrument, and to be the best possible music instructor that she can be.
Natasha’s passion for singing and music led her to become a solo pop singer-songwriter under the name RAANI (rah-knee). Her music can be found on all major streaming platforms.
Her top priority as a voice and piano instructor is to create a safe space for students to express themselves authentically, and to equip students with the musical tools that will empower them to create and to sing/play music that they are passionate about.
Some fundamental concepts that students will cover in Natasha’s voice lessons are anatomy of the voice, technique, vocal hygiene and artistry. In piano, students will learn technique, theory and artistry. With every student, Natasha starts by understanding what their goals are and the type of music that they want to learn. From there, classes are tailored to fit each student’s goals and needs.
