Taya Anderson
Taya Anderson comes from a family of music educators and has been playing the piano since she was six years old. Piano lessons and her school’s music programs curated her love of music as an art form and as a safe place for self expression. Throughout her school years she has performed in bands playing trombone while also singing various parts in choirs ranging in genre from pop, jazz to classical. She is a classically trained pianist with certifications in both piano and music theory from The Royal Conservatory of Music at level 8, and continues to study and play at level 9.
Building on her appreciation of storytelling, Taya holds an undergraduate degree in English literature from St. Mary’s University in Calgary, and her writing has been published in various collections. She enjoys fine arts, such as visual arts, theatre, literature, and crafting such as crochet.
As an educator, Taya aims to teach engaging lessons that establish strong musical fundamentals to create well-rounded musicians. She strives to foster the same lifelong love of music that her own teachers gave to her, paying it forward to her students with compassion, care and dedication.
